Freshly picked Carolina Reaper, what do I do with it 🥵
Hot sauce? Mixed with other peppers? I have some Thai hots, Srirachas, Dalits, and a couple of ghost peppers

I never had fresh reaper, how does it taste straight from the vine?

Eat it. I would dice it up leave seeds and put it something you enjoy. Soups, eggs, chili, nachos, tacos. I would put it in a chicken wrap. 20 minutes of euphoria followed by 12 hours of anticipation. Keep us posted mate!

Handle it carefully like a live grenade and lock it in a gun safe so it can’t hurt any children.

Real answer? Look up how to dry it and then grind it into a powder. I bought myself a cheap coffee grinder that I use just for dried spicy peppers

If you check my posts, I just started a fermented hot sauce with one of my reapers that just came in. Pretty easy to do. I hope I live through it.
Also, shove it up your butt.

Hot sauce! I made one recently and it was super tasty! I’ll leave you the recipe in case you want to try making it:
INGREDIENTS -2 Carolina reapers, 1 fresh without seeds nor veins, 1 roasted without seeds (you can just use 1 pepper and it will be delicious either way, without the veins should be significantly less hot, so you choose) -1 onion, roasted -3 garlic cloves, roasted -5 or 6 oranges for making juice (300cl aprox.) -2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1tbsp of honey -2tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar -1tsp of sesame oil, 1tsp of ginger powder
INSTRUCTIONS -Roast 1 whole pepper with the veggies, you can do it with the airfryer or in the oven at a high temp, but make sure to be in a well ventilated space because oh boy the air will start to burn your eyes and your throat will feel hella dry. -When the pepper is looking toasted (it won’t take long) take it out and leave the veggies until they look toasted too. -Mix the orange juice with all the ingredients except the peppers.
Now please use some gloves when you handle the peppers, or else you’ll regret it later.
-Take the seeds off the roasted pepper. Then put it in the mixture. Blend that and put it on a pan at medium/low heat until it thickens a little. Take it out and let it cool at room temperature.
Now would be the time to be adding the fresh pepper. Try cleaning and taking out as much veins of the pepper as possible, and take all the seeds out. Cut it in tiny pieces but don’t blend it, we want those chunks of fresh pepper!
That’s it. You have your Carolina Reaper sauce, a good amount of it so you can share it with friends. Enjoy it. It lasts on the fridge for about a week 🙂
